From three inflatables to The Jump Off
I grew up in Salt Lake City, met my wife, Michelle, while living in Northern California, and now live in Madisonville, Louisiana, with our two kids, Boston and Brodie.
I started The Jump Off, a bounce house and party rental company, in Covington, Louisiana, in July 2019. Inflatables were not part of a grand plan. I had left a 16-year career, was driving Uber, selling things on Facebook Marketplace, and storing three inflatables in my garage.
The five-day break-even story
A man came to buy bikes I had fixed up. He noticed the bounce houses and told me he owned 28 of his own. He pointed me toward a warehouse in Prairieville, and my mom and I showed up cold. We bought a trailer and a group of inflatables for $2,000.
Our HOA would not let us keep the trailer, so we sold it for $1,800. Then we completed two rentals over Thanksgiving weekend. Within five days, we had broken even on the original investment.

I used to say I wanted to change the world. Now I believe change happens one person at a time. I never expected a bounce house company to become the way I would do that—but it has.
Why I teach
I have taught Christmas light business trainings for five years. Teaching the bounce house business in a classroom is newer, but the lessons come from years of operating experience. That practical foundation has already made the Bounce Into Biz curriculum deeply impactful.
I cofounded Bounce Into Biz with Alvin Bearden. Alvin brings his side of the story; I bring the operator perspective and lead the AE (Artificial Employee) crew. Our students leave with something live—a page, a text workflow, an Artificial Employee, or a booking path—not just a binder and notes.
